Hanzomon Museum in Central Tokyo Opens to the Public

Shinnyo-en’s Yushin Center in Central Tokyo is home to the new Hanzomon Museum, which opened to the general public on April 19th. Built to house Buddhist artwork, the new cultural facility is part of Shinnyo-en’s ongoing efforts to contribute to society and promote culture and exchange stemming from art. The museum spans three floors of exhibits and offers a tranquil setting for visitors to enjoy and learn about Buddhism’s history and diverse culture, as well as find space for relaxation. MORE

K*MoPA exhibition at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum

From March 24 to May 13, 2018 the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Art (K*MoPA) is organizing an exhibition “Beginnnings. Forever.-2018-“ at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. Sponsored by Shinnyo-en, this exhibition will also be travelling to Taiwan to be shown at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichun, from June 23 to September 23, 2018. In exchange, their exhibition “Looking Back - Taiwanese Photographers' Island Gazes 1970s-1990s” will be shown at K*MoPA from July 7 to December 2, 2018. MORE

Young Earth Activists Explore Spiritual Side of Climate Action in Bonn

At United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 23) in Bonn, Germany last November, young ecologists and activists participated in The Inner Dimensions of Climate Change, a five-day retreat and dialogue. The focus of the gathering was on how a disconnection from nature may be contributing to climate change, and what it means to renew a relationship with the Earth.
